Your privacy

Your privacy is important to us. This privacy statement explains the personal data LGIT Smart solutions processes, how LGIT processes it and for what purposes.

Personal data we collect

LGIT collects data from you, through our interactions with you and through our products and services. You provide this data directly. The data we collect depends on the context of your interactions with LGIT and the choices that you make. We aim to collect the minimum personal data which does not include sensitive data. 

 

We only collect the following data from you:

  • name

  • surname

  • email

  • contact number

  • company

  • job title

  • gender

  • city

  • country

 

We also obtain the above data about you from third parties like Microsoft when required, and in line with a service we provide on behalf of Microsoft.

We DO NOT collect sensitive personal data such as: ID numbers, driver's license numbers, passport numbers, credit card numbers, personal bank account numbers, exact geo-location, and health information.  Payments to us are made via Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) only.


You have choices when it comes to the data you share. When we ask you to provide personal data, you can decline. Many of our products and services require some personal data to provide you with a service. If you choose not to provide data required to provide you with a product or feature, you cannot use that product or feature. Likewise, where we need to collect personal data by law or to enter into or carry out a contract with you, and you do not provide the data, we will not be able to enter into the contract; or if this relates to an existing product or service you’re using, we may have to suspend or cancel it. We will notify you if this is the case at the time.

How we use personal data

LGIT uses the data we collect to provide you products or services.

We also use the data to operate our business, which includes analysing our performance, and meeting our obligations.

Our processing of personal data for these purposes includes both automated and manual (human) methods of processing. Our automated methods often are related to and supported by our manual methods.

Provided that you have agreed to this, we may use your information to send you information on industry related news that may be of interest to you and from time to time will email information to you about us, our products and services. If you do not wish to continue receiving this information you may click on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the newsletter, and we you will be removed from our mailing list.

Storing personal information
We will ensure we have appropriate physical and technological security measures to protect your information regardless of where it is held.

Reasons we share personal data

We share your personal data with your consent or to complete any transaction or provide any product you have requested or authorised. We also share data with Microsoft-controlled affiliates and subsidiaries, and with vendors working on our behalf.

We will not disclose personal information to anyone without your permission unless:

  • we are compelled to do so by law or in terms of a court order

  • it is in the public interest to do so

  • it is necessary to protect our rights

  • Email promotions

Third parties
Whenever we commission other organisations to provide support services to us, we will bind them to our privacy policies as far as they may be required to have access to our customers' personal information to perform such services. Our website may contain links to or from other sites. While we try to link only to sites that share our high standards and respect for privacy, we are not responsible for the content or the security or privacy practices employed by other sites. We recommend that you always read the privacy and security statements on such sites.

Common scenarios

  • To contact you regarding your training

  • Providing you with courseware material from a vendor

  • Providing you with online labs from a vendor

  • Providing progress reports to Microsoft, where your training is sponsored by Microsoft

  • Providing progress reports to an institution or organisation, where your training is sponsored by this institution or organisation

How to access and control your personal data

You can control your personal data that LGIT has obtained, and exercise your data protection rights, by contacting LGIT or using tools we provide. In some cases, your ability to access or control your personal data will be limited, as required or permitted by applicable law. How you can access or control your personal data will also depend on which products and services you use.

 

For example, you can:

  • Control the use of your data for newsletters from Microsoft by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the newsletter.

  • Choose whether you wish to receive promotional emails, and telephone calls from LGIT.

 

Not all personal data processed by LGIT can be accessed or controlled via the tools above. If you want to access or control personal data processed by LGIT that is not available via the tools above, you can always contact LGIT in the Contact us page.
