Quick tip on how to insert equations in Word

Did you know? - You can add complex mathematical equations into Word by clicking Insert > Equation, and then selecting the equation you wish to add. Once it has been inserted into your doc, you can change formatting or replace letters with numbers.

For example, if you wanted to show the square root of 16, first click on Insert Equation, Insert New Equation.


Click on the Equation Tools Design Tab and then on the drop down arrow next to Radical. Select the icon as shown here eg


Then add the relevant information eg
